Narcan (naloxone) training session December 19
A free seminar on naloxone (commonly known as Narcan), has been scheduled for December 19th, at The Counseling Center at Toms River. Naloxone is a drug that can reverse a drug overdose before it causes death, by blocking the effects of heroin, opiates and opioids (e.g. prescription painkillers). Naloxone is now available over the counter in New Jersey, and has been effective in reversing thousands of overdoses across the state.
Our training partner will provide free home Narcan kits to a limited number of participants, and representatives from The Counseling Center will be on hand to answer questions about addiction disorders, treatment options, and issues of interest to the community.
Please read the full seminar announcement and instructions for registering for the free Narcan kits and seminar.
